Dorris
(1906-2000). My mother-in-law. She was a "plain" cook - nothing
fancy - but she was a wonderful cook! She ended each evening meal with a
homemade "sweet".
Dorris' Uncooked French Silk Pie
Ingredients:
Sugar 3/4 cup
Butter 1/2 cup
Chocolate 2 squares unsweetened
Vanilla 1 teaspoon
Egg 2
Preparation:
Cream well together sugar
and butter. Melt and cool chocolate. Add chocolate and vanilla. Add one egg,
beat 5 minutes at medium speed, then add second egg and beat 5 min. more. Turn
into 9" pie crust. Cool. Serve w/whipped cream. Freezes well. Noel (her
daughter) says she doubles the amounts for one pie.
